HANNspree California, a manufacturer of imaginatively-styled LCD TVs, opened its flagship U.S. gallery store Oct. 29 in San Francisco’s Union Square.
The 9,500-square-foot facility, which is located at the corners of Sutter and Stockton streets, is being offered as a showcase for HANNspree’s extensive lines of design-driven, lifestyle-inspired LCD television sets.
At a grand opening event, the company brought in a number of local baseball and basketball stars to play up the company’s Major League Baseball- and National Basketball Association-licensed sets.
Joining HANNspree chairman and founder Y.C. Chiao was San Francisco Giants’ pitcher Jason Schmidt, and Golden State Warriors’ stars Derek Fisher and Jason Richardson, all of whom signed autographs for fans.
Other HANNspree executives on hand included Neil Yang, HANNspree U.S. operations general manager; Rick Calacci, sales and marketing senior VP; and Michael Amkreutz, product marketing VP.
The store is outfitted with more than 100 models featuring imaginative design concepts, unique shapes and somewhat unusual materials, including wood veneer and fur.
HANNspree’s Fantasy LCD-TV line features detailed trains and fire trucks, along with animals made from child-friendly fabrics. Other licensed design themes include Disney characters.
“With the advent of flat-screen technology, we recognize a momentous opportunity to offer consumers TVs that are an expression of their personality, style and interests,” said Chiao. “Our flagship retail gallery in San Francisco gives us a prestigious, elegant environment in which to showcase our vision through a full range of television sets.”
