Char-Broil Adds Sizzle To Grill Line

Thoughts of summertime ballgames and backyard barbecues are one way to keep warm in mid-February.

Helping to fuel the fantasy while setting the seasonal sales wheels in motion, Columbus, Ga.-based Char-Broil has begun shipping its 2017 line of affordably-priced gas grills.

Leading the pack is its SmartChef TRU-Infrared grill (suggested retail: $799) featuring Wi-Fi connectivity, four cook modes and real-time alerts. Users can set the unit to guided cook, which provides step-by-step instructions; time cook, which monitors the cooking process after selecting grill temperature and target time; temperature mode, which is based on target prove temperature; and manual mode, which still monitors grill status and sends notifications.

In addition, its TRU-Infrared cooking technology allows for even cooking and up to 50-percent juicier results, Char-Broil said.

“Having a guided cooking experience inspires grilling techniques, and gives consumers freedom to learn how to build their craft,” said Brendan Anderson, marketing and product management VP.

Also new for 2017 is the kamado-style Kamander grill ($349 retail), whose insulated, double-wall steel construction allows for fast and even heating, while an innovative air intake and convenient controls maintain appropriate temperatures for slow smoking to searing.

Joining them is Char-Broil’s Signature convective gas grill series ($299 to $499) offering two-, three- and four-burner configurations; zonal cooking; reduced flareups; and faster pre-heat times.

Added Anderson, “We want to continue to foster that love of grilling with a generation that is connected and looking for solutions that fit their lifestyle.”
