Bridgewater, N.J. — Brother International introduced Tuesday its new line of monochrome laser printers and all-in-ones for the small-office and home-office (SO/HO) market.
Brother pointed out that the new and improved models maintain the company’s value suggested retail price points.
Key upgrades to the single-function printers are inclusion of a one-line LCD display that prompts users with instructions for connecting to a wireless network, and also improved menu navigation.
Brother has also made automatic duplex printing standard on every model to allow for quick printing of multiple and multi-page documents.
Select all-in-one models add a 2.7-inch TouchScreen Display for easier setup and navigation and include the Brother Web Connect interface, enabling users to scan to and print from popular Cloud services without the need of a computer.
New Web Connect models support AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, the Brother iPrint&Scan mobile app, Wi-Fi Direct and Cortado Workplace.
The printers are compatible with Apple iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Windows Phone or BlackBerry devices.
New mono laser models now add improved print speed of up to 32 ppm, and more compact desktop footprints.
The model HL-L2360DW ($149 suggested retail) monochrome laser printer includes 802.11b/g/n wireless configuration for the new one-line LCD. It will connect to a wired network via Ethernet port or to a single computer via USB port.
In addition to up to 32 ppm print speed, the unit offers automatic duplex (two-sided) printing, a high-yield replacement toner cartridge that prints up to 2,600 pages for reduced cost per page, 250-sheet paper tray that adjusts for legal paper, and a one-year limited warranty.
The HL-L2320D ($119) steps down to print speeds up to 30 ppm and omits the LCD screen.
The HL-L2380DW ($199) offers the features of the HL-L2360DW plus copying and scanning functionality, as well as a 2.7-inch TouchScreen Display with Web Connect and free Brother Cloud apps.
The MFC-L2740DW ($299) monochrome laser all-in-one carries the same features as the HL-L2360DW plus print/copy/scan/fax capability, single-pass duplex copying, scanning, and faxing through the 35-page capacity automatic document feeder; high-quality color scanning to FTP, Microsoft SharePoint and more; and a 2.7-inch color touchscreen display with Web Connect.
The MFC-L2700DW ($199) offers a two-line LCD, print/copy speed up to 27 ppm but omits single-pass duplex copy/scan/fax.
The MFC-L2720DW ($249) includes the features of the MFC-L2740DW, without single-pass duplex copy/scan/fax and with a print/copy speed up to 30 ppm.
