BenQ Adds 3,200-Lumen DLP Projector

Costa Mesa, Calif. — BenQ America introduced Tuesday a new addition to its M6 series of education/boardroom projectors in the 3,200-ANSI-lumen MW665.

BenQ said the WXGA resolution MW665 DLP projector is available now at a $999 suggested retail. It uses Colorific technology to produce greater image detail and up to 1 billion colors.

Targeted at houses of worship, classrooms and corporate conference rooms, the bright projector offers a 13,000:1 contrast ratio and includes BenQ’s SmartEco energy-saving features to lower the projector’s total cost of ownership (TCO).

Supporting a bring-your-own-device solution to projector presentation, the MW665 features LAN support and control, and wireless connectivity.

When paired with the BenQ QPresenter Pro app, participants can collaborate and share documents, photos, and Web content directly from their mobile devices to a projection screen in 2D or 3D.

The projector provides LAN control with remote monitoring to assist IT managers in facility-wide maintenance directly from an administrator’s workstation.

With LAN display, audio and video signals are carried to the projector via a single LAN cable.

The MW665 also provides support for AMX, Crestron and PJLink systems.

Horizontal and vertical keystone calibration is included to create a perfectly rectangular image.

PC-less presentation is simplified using a USB and Office Viewer to directly plug USB drives into the unit.

BenQ said  lamp life is rated up to 10,000 hours without compromising picture quality.

BenQ’s LumenCare setting enables running the projector at constant brightness for the first 2,100 hours of lamp life in conditions where the projector must remain on at all times.

To further reduce power consumption, an Eco Blank mode will blank out the screen whenever projection isn’t needed, while a No Source Detected mode automatically lowers brightness to 30 percent when no signal has been detected for more than three minutes.

In Standby mode, the projector will lower power consumption to less than 0.5 watt during periods of inactivity, providing even greater energy savings and further lowering TCO.

Connectivity options include HDMI, D-sub, USB, MiniUSB and RJ45 ports; a microphone slot; and audio in and out jacks. The projector has 2-watt speakers.
