Seattle, Wash. − AudioControl added multiple new features to its top-end preamp/surround processor, including an HDBaseT option, 4K Ultra HD pass-through and upscaling, and balanced inputs not available on its predecessor.
The Maestro M8, which will appear at the CEDIA Expo, is shipping at a suggested $8,900.
To send HDMI signals over CAT-5 cable to a remote display, the component features an optional back-panel HD Base T output. The component also features Ultra HD 4K passthrough and upscaling, seven discrete HDMI 1.4 inputs, dual HDMI 1.4 outputs with audio return channel, and dual balanced inputs.
Other key features include proprietary room correction with signal alignment, level and equalization assignable on a per-source basis, Dolby Volume technology to eliminate sharp volume-level jumps when switching sources or when TV commercials come on, and compatibility with control systems from such companies as Savant, Crestron, Control 4 and RTI. The component can be controlled from an AudioControl iOS app.
