Assurant Assumes Whirlpool’s Warranty Business

Whirlpool has selected Assurant to market, administer and underwrite its extended-service plans in the United States and Canada.

Kevin Roney, Whirlpool’s financial planning and analysis director, said the new relationship enables the world’s largest majap maker to consolidate its extended-service contract program with a single partner.

“Previously we were managing several vendors,” Roney said. “By choosing Assurant, we are able to select one partner to meet both our short-term and anticipated long-term needs for growth. Assurant offered us an innovative solution backed by a stable financial position and excellent reputation in the appliance industry.”
