Pioneer mulls first dividend in decade for fiscal 2017

The company anticipates a net profit of 4 billion yen for the year through March 2018, quadrupling from the current fiscal year’s projection thanks to cost cutting and a recovery in sales of car audio systems in emerging countries. Free cash flow is forecast to swing to a positive 2 billion yen.

“TOKYO — Pioneer looks to resume dividend payouts next fiscal year after a decade-long hiatus, with the Japanese company expected to regain a positive free cash flow at that time. “We will consider paying a dividend of several yen per share in the year through March 2018,” President Susumu Kotani said in a recent interview with The Nikkei.”
