Bedminster, N.J. - The long-delayed 4G LTE upgrade of the 3G Motorola Xoom tablet will come sometime in September following postponements from an original second-quarter launch date, Verizon Wireless said.
The announcement puts some specificity in
by Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha that the update would be delayed until sometime in the summer, which officially ends on Sept. 23.
To get the free upgrade, consumers must ship their tablet to Motorola, which will return it in six business days.
Verizon said it has no update on the delayed launch of the Motorola 4G LTE Bionic, which has also been delayed from an originally promised second quarter. In May, Motorola said the Bionic would be available sometime in the summer.
