Xoom Tablet To Get 4G Upgrade In September

Bedminster, N.J. –
The long-delayed 4G LTE upgrade of the 3G Motorola Xoom tablet will come
sometime in September following postponements from an original second-quarter
launch date, Verizon Wireless said.

by Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha that the update would be
delayed until sometime in the summer, which officially ends on Sept. 23.

To get the free
upgrade, consumers must ship their tablet to Motorola, which will return it in
six business days.

Verizon said it has no update on
the delayed launch of the Motorola 4G LTE Bionic, which has also been delayed
from an originally promised second quarter. In May, Motorola said the Bionic
would be available sometime in the summer.
