Windows 7 OS Gains Another CDMA Carrier

Ridgeland, Mass. – Microsoft’s
smartphone platform gained more ground among CDMA carriers with the
announcement that

Cellular
South

became the latest CDMA carrier to offer the HTC 7 Pro
smartphone with Windows 7 operating system.

The $199 HTC 7 Pro is the
carrier’s first Windows 7 smartphone, which was also launched this week by

U.S.
Cellular

and, earlier this year, by Sprint, which calls it the

HTC
Arrive

. All three carriers are the first CDMA carriers to offer a
Windows 7 phone.

Ridgeland, Mass. – Microsoft’s smartphone platform gained more ground among CDMA carriers with Cellular South adding the Windows 7 HTC 7 Pro phone.HTC-made phones
are also the first Windows Phone 7 handsets to combine a sliding QWERTY
keyboard with a tilt-up display to create the appearance of a tiny laptop.

The phone, available through
Cellular South’s direct and indirect channels, features 3.6-inch touchscreen, built-in
FM radio, access to Netflix, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, 1GHz
processor, 5-megapixel camera, 800 by 480 capacitive touchscreen display, 720p
HD video recording, 16GB of non-removable memory, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, stereo
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and SRS Wow surround-sound processing. The phone also lets
users view, edit, share and sync Office documents, and it integrates with
Windows Live, Xbox Live, Windows Marketplace and Zune services, the latter
enabling users to download and stream music.
