VTech 2009 DECT Lineup Made Available

Beaverton, Ore. — VTech Communications announced the availability of its 2009 DECT 6.0 cordless phone systems.

The line includes more than 20 SKUs, many of which were first announced during International CES and are

part of VTech’s LS, DS and CS lines.

The DS6221 DECT 6.0 ($44.95) features an “extra large” LCD, digital answering system, handset speakerphone and is expandable up to 12 handsets using only one phone, said VTech. It is available in bundled options with three to five handsets. Other features include caller ID/calling waiting, 50-name and number phone book, 15 minutes of recording time, selectable ringtones and remote message retrieval.

Also part of the DS line, the DS6201 accessory handset with caller ID and handset speakerphone ($19.95) requires the DS6211 or DS6221 series to operate — no phone jack required, according to the company.

The CS series, considered by VTech as its “cost conscious” line, has been upgraded to DECT 6.0 technology. The CS6219 (starting at $19.95) cordless phone and CS6229 (starting at $29.95) cordless phone with digital answering system includes such features as caller ID/call waiting, intercom between handsets, 50-name and number phone book, selectable ringtones and any-key answer. The CS6219 is also available as a two-handset system (CS6219-2), and the CS6229 is available in models up to four handsets. Both the CS6219 and CS6229 series are expandable to 12 handsets — using the CS6209 accessory handset, which has a $14.95 suggested retail, said VTech.
