Irvine, Calif. — Toshiba’s storage device division has added a 400GB personal storage device to its lineup.
The product includes NTI Shadow software to allow a consumer to set its backup parameters only once.
“With the constant influx of cherished digital content stored on home computers, consumers are looking for a fast and easy way to protect their libraries with little to no maintenance,” said Maciek Brzeski, Toshiba storage device division marketing VP. “Toshiba’s click-free, switch-free and button-free backup solution caters to the average digital consumer — but with advanced features and high capacities that also appeal to the sophisticated technophile.”
The 400GB model joins an existing line of USB 2.0 portable external HDDs available in 160GB, 250GB and 320 GB capacities. All products in the line come with an internal shock sensor and ramp-loading technology said to delver extra protection against wear and tear along with anti-slip footpads.
The latest drive is said to weigh only 6 ounces. It has a glossy finish with a graphic pattern on its chassis. It is now available in “electronic blue and black” along with older designs “carbon grey,” “hot rod red” and “gecko green.”
The 400GB model will be available online and at retail next month.
