Indianapolis - SurgeX is at CEDIA Expo to introduce its new rear-mount surge eliminators: the XC Space Savers series.

The XC series is designed to mount on the back of a component rack, taking up no valuable rack space, the company said.

The main module can mount anywhere and is available with either 18 or 24 outlets. Both units feature SurgeX patented Advanced Series Mode protection technology, a remote interface, over/under voltage protection LED, power on/off LED and self-test LED.

Both units are 15-amp/120-volt configurations.

The Space Savers come with the company's Advanced Series Mode surge-elimination technology, which is completely non-sacrificial and eliminates all surge energy without producing harmful side effects such as ground contamination or common-mode disturbances, SurgeX said. Comprehensive protection technology also includes Common Mode and Normal Mode Impedance Tolerant EMI/RFI filtering, SurgeX Inrush Current Elimination, and Catastrophic Over/Under Voltage Shutdown.

SurgeX said the XC series units are built to withstand a 6,000-volt, 3,000-amp AC power surge at least 1,000 times without failing.

SurgeX is in booth 5133.
