Rochester, N.Y. — Staples launched a Tech Trade-in Event last month, inviting Staples Rewards customers to bring in certain used computers, printers, monitors, digital cameras, telephones uninterrupted power supplies, labelers, notebook accessories, networking gear or GPS devices and receive $30 back in Staples Rewards when they purchased a new product from a participating vendor in the same category. Staples vowed to recycle all of the used equipment. The promotion runs through Nov. 15.
Participating vendors include Hewlett-Packard, Brother, Kodak, APC, RCA, GE, Garmin, Logitech, Uniden, Linksys and Panasonic.
“Tech Trade-in is another fresh idea to engage consumers and experience the latest technologies such as Kodak’s breakthrough Smart Capture feature, which delivers astonishingly great pictures with the push of a button,” said Richard Ford, director of digital capture and devices for Americas, Eastman Kodak Company. “In addition to getting a hot deal on a new Kodak camera and Staples Rewards, consumers can also help reduce the more than 1.5 million tons of electronics waste going to landfills or incinerators annually in the U.S.”
