Sprint Adds Enterprise-Grade Motorola Android Phone

Overland Park, Kansas – Two new
business-oriented 3G Android smartphones from Sprint include the carrier’s
first Android phone with enterprise-grade security and the carrier’s latest
Nextel-network Android phone, which delivers Nextel’s sub-second push-to-talk
setup time.

The enterprise-grade phone is the
Motorola XPRT, which is also the carrier’s first Android phone with
international roaming, thanks to the inclusion of 2G GSM/EDGE and 3G W-CDMA/HSDPA
technology.

The Nextel phone is the ruggedized
Motorola Titanium, which is the first Nextel Direct Connect smartphone built on
Android 2.1. It replaces the Motorola i1 launched last year by Sprint with an
earlier Android OS.

Both are bar-style phones with
touchscreen and physical QWERTY keyboard.

The Motorola XPRT will be available June
5at $129.99. Pricing and availability for the iDEN-network Motorola Titanium
will be announced at a later date.

The XPRT features Android 2.2 OS, pinch-to-zoom
3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz processor, Adobe Flash 10
web browsing, and such business-class security features as 256-bit AES data
encryption and IT-department ability to remotely enable pin or password lock
and wipe data stored on the phone and its memory card.

XPRT also features Motoblur service,
which delivers personalized content, including email and social media updates,
to the user’s home screen. It enables viewing of news feeds, updates and
messages from social media sites on a single screen.

It also comes with Google’s mobile
services, 3G mobile hotspot capability supporting up to five Wi-Fi devices at a
time, 5-megapixel camera/camcorder and dual LED flash, microSD slot with included
2GB memory card, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and 1,860 mAh lithium-ion
battery.

For its part, the ruggedized
Motorola Titanium features QWERTY keyboard, 3.1-inch touchscreen display,
military-grade specs for durability, Google mobile services, corporate email
(Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync) and personal (POP3 and IMAP) email, 5-megapixel
camera/camcorder, flash, Wi-Fi b/g, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot with included
2GB memory card, and 1820 mAh Lithium-ion battery.
