Sony Launches 2nd Gen DASH Devices

introduced
Wednesday two second-generation models of its Wi-Fi-enabled DASH information
alarm clock.

The HID-B7 ($130 suggested retail) and HID-B70 ($170) each
feature: customizable enhanced real-time information delivery to any room in
the home. Both are available in October.

Both new models offer easy access to news, alarms, weather,
Internet radio, photos.  

The HID-B70 model, which comes in a choice of colors including
brown, slate blue and orange, includes on-device registration for easy, PC-free
set up and activation and a basic internet browser.

The unit offer greater portability through a built-in lithium ion
battery, enabling easy room to room transfer.

The HID-B7 is available in basic black only.

Both models feature a 7-inch color LCD touch screens, and use WiFi
connection to access real-time information.

They both provide full alarm clock functionality and feature access
to more than 1,000 free apps, including Facebook, news, sports, webcams and others.

Users can also easily play back Internet radio content from Pandora®
and SHOUTcast, via the built-in speaker or the headphone/audio output.

Photos can be viewed via access to the Flickr, Photobucket and
Sony’s Personal Space application services.
