Simple Star Enhances PhotoShow Software

San Francisco – Imaging software maker Simple Star announced its PhotoShow platform, which wraps together several new and existing technologies to enable consumers to create, share and view multimedia photo and video slideshows.

The platform will include a new Web site – www.PhotoShow.com – that lets users create their own slideshows without downloading software to their PC. Shows can be e-mailed or sent to social networking Web sites.

It also includes PhotoShowTV, which sends PhotoShows to digital set-top boxes through a partnership with Time Warner Cable. The service is currently available in Hawaii and Simple Star said the trial will expand to additional markets in the future. Time Warner customers can download a Time Warner-branded version of the PhotoShow software and e-mail finished PhotoShows to a dedicated e-mail address. They will then receive an e-mail with instructions on how to view the PhotoShow on TV.

SimpleStar will also ship an updated version of its PhotoShow Deluxe desktop software in December. The new version will add themes, styles and new format enhancements as well as music from Miles Davis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Blues Traveler and Thievery Corporation.
