Sharp Picks Sony Veteran Bill Fox As A/V Senior VP, Group Gen. Mgr.

Sharp Electronics said it has appointed 20-year Sony veteran Bill Fox as audio/video sales senior VP and group general manager. At the same time, the company announced it has promoted Consumer Electronics Group marketing VP Bob Scaglione to senior VP.

Fox will be responsible for overseeing sales strategy and operations encompassing Sharp’s AQUOS LCD televisions and other digital home entertainment products. Scaglione will continue to oversee marketing and product development in both the audio/video and appliance categories.

Both men report to Noboru Fujimoto, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America president.

Fox spent more than 20 years in consumer electronics sales at Sony Electronics, marketing and business development. Over the last seven years he held senior-level leadership positions in a number of divisions, including the Home Entertainment Products Division.

Most recently, he headed a group responsible for the development of consumer systems and applications for the residential new home market. He has also led both field and strategic account selling teams in each of Sony’s three U.S. sales zones.
