Alaska – Siras president Peter
Junger is taking his faith in GPS technology to a new height, literally.
Junger is in the process of climbing Alaska’s Mount
McKinley. He is using a Spot personal locator device, which broadcasts his
GPS coordinates so he can be followed via Google Maps.

According to a company spokesperson, Junger and his climbing
group are expected to reach the summit on July 11. As of July 2 they are
somewhere near the 11,000 foot mark.
Junger is an experienced mountaineer and is part of a group of
fellow enthusiasts named the Highpointers.
The club’s mission is to climb the highest peak in each of the 50 states.
