Sanyo Debuts Four Projectors

Chatsworth, Calif. –

Sanyo North

introduced Friday two series of ultra-portable 3LCD projectors for
the educational and business markets.

The XK- and WK-series projectors incorporate improvements in lamp
and filter life, to reduce both costs and time required for maintenance, the
company said.

All four models offer compact cabinets (13.1 inches by 4 inches by
9.7 inches) and weigh 6.4 pounds, for easy portability.

The PLC-WK2500 will ship this month at a $995 suggested retail
and features WXGA resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 3,000:1 contrast ratio and
2,500 lumens brightness.

The PLC-XK3010 ($1,145) has XGA resolution, a 2,000:1 contrast
ratio and 3,000 Lumens brightness.

The PLC-XK2600 ($995) has XGA resolution, a 2,000:1 contrast
ratio and 2,600 Lumens brightness

The PLC-XK2200 ($845) has XGA resolution, a 2,000:1 contrast
ratio and 2,200 Lumens brightness

The projectors have an extended lamp life of up to 6,000 hours in
Eco mode, which is said to be double that of conventional models.

The new filter technology in the new models offers six times the
collection area of previous filters and includes a new three-layered structure
that improves its dust-collecting capacity by a factor of 20, increasing the
expected filter life to 5,500 hours in Eco mode.

Other features in the models include an automatic iris control for
increased contrast performance.

Audio is supported with a 10-watt audio amplifier, loudspeaker,
and a microphone input for presentations in larger venues.

An auto setup function applies compensation for any vertical
image distortion by analyzing the source and detecting the incline angle of the
projector, and a screen guidance function instructs the operator through step-by-step
instructions displayed on screen.

 All four projectors can be
monitored and controlled through a wired LAN connection, supported by a back
panel RJ-45 connector.

presentation technologies group national sales manager.

Amato comes to Sanyo from Samsung Northeast where he was the pro
