Secaucus, N.J. — Samsung will ship a pair of S-series digital cameras to dealers in January.
The 7-megapixel S760 and 8-megapixel S860 will both feature 3x optical zoom lens, digital stabilization, 11 scene modes, VGA resolution movie recording at 30 fps, face detection and a self-portrait mode, which utilizes facial detection software to capture an image only when the subject is centered in the frame.
The cameras will incorporate a function-description feature to explain camera settings to novice users. A dedicated effects button gives consumers access to in-camera editing features, bright and contrast controls, and the ability to add color effects to photos.
The S860 will retail for a suggested $179 while the S760 carries a $169 price tag.
