Persnickety Kitchens Closes, Inventory Sold To Cowboy Maloney’s

Madison, Miss. – Persnickety Kitchens, the 3.5-year-old premium appliance showroom, has shut its doors and sold its inventory to Cowboy Maloney’s Appliance, Electronics and Bedding Superstores.

Founded by owner Ben Rogers, Persnickety Kitchens was an offshoot of a local, family-owned gift shop that remains in operation. The showroom carried a wide selection of high-end white goods by Asko, Dacor, Fisher & Paykel, Sub-Zero/Wolf, U-Line, Vent-A-Hood and Viking, as well as a range of outdoor grilling products.

Cowboy Maloney, which operates 11 stores across Mississippi, said an uptick in majap demand prompted the buyout of Rogers’ inventory.

“With the building industry improving with all the new home starts and people remodeling their homes, it just made sense to purchase the Persnickety Kitchens appliance inventory,” said CEO Con Maloney.

The acquisition is the second major move for Cowboy Maloney’s this season. In April the chain announced plans to open a 12th location in a former Viking Range Cooking School in Ridgeland, Miss. The company described the latest location as a new-format majaps concept shop and plans to open it this summer.
