Hauppauge, N.Y. – Personal
Communications Devices (PCD) teamed up with Chicago-based carrier U.S. Cellular
once again to offer the CDM8635 compact flip phone.
U.S. Cellular, the nation’s
sixth-largest wireless carrier, with 6.2 million subscribers, is positioning
the phone as a simple solution for consumers who don’t want confusing,
nonessential features.
It features large external
display font, voice-activated dialing, and a noise-suppressor option that makes
it easier to hear a caller, as does a frequency-altering feature for hearing
compensation. Four essential shortcut keys and a menu coach that explains
functions are designed to simplify navigation.
The 3.9-inch by 2-inch by 0.8-inch
device features 2.2-inch 260K color TFT main display, 1.5-inch mono LCD
external display, 1GB flash memory, and four dedicated shortcut keys for zoom,
speakerphone, alarm and picture albums.
Other features include 1.3-megapixel CMOS camera and lithium-ion 920 mAh battery delivering 4.1 hours of talktime.
