Optoma Adds New Pair Of LED Projectors

FREMONT, CALIF. –

Optoma has introduced two
EcoBright lamp-free LED-based projectors targeting
the mobile professional sector.

Optoma’s new LED models include the 300-lumen
TL30W ($549 suggested retail) and the 500-lumen
TL50W ($649).

Both units are shipping now and offer compact body
designs and built-in wireless connectivity to any Wi-Ficapable
PC, smartphone or tablet. They also come with
a built-in MS Office Viewer for PC-free operation.

Both models are available now and carry a three-year
Optoma Express premium replacement service warranty
package or 10,000 hours on light source, whichever
comes first.

“Traveling professionals want great performance as
well as convenience, and these two projectors offer
the best of both,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s product
and marketing senior director. “And with business
travelers relying more on tablets and smartphones, the
added convenience of being able to work PC-free, either
through wireless connectivity with their portable
devices or by preloading their content directly into the
projector’s onboard memory, USB or SD card, is a tremendous
advantage.”

The TL30W and TL50W feature WXGA resolution.

The TL30W weighs 1.4 pounds and fits into a briefcase
or handbag. The TL50W weighs 2.5 pounds and
is also suitable to be carried in a briefcase.

The LED light source replaces the conventional lamp
and eliminates the need for frequent bulb replacements.
Both units provide contrast ratios of 3,000:1 and offer
a wide color palette.

Optoma said the life of an LED light source typical
lasts past 20,000 hours.

Features in both models include: instant On/Off, auto
keystone correction, an included wireless Wi-Fi dongle
for connectivity to PCs and Android-based smartphones
and tablets.

The built-in MS Office Viewer, which accesses most
MS office files for on-screen presentation without a PC,
is supported by 2GB of onboard storage capacity and
has the ability to be expanded through a MicroSD/SD
card slot or USB slot.

Instead of a traditional “drill-down” menu design,
Optoma incorporates six intelligent function keys and a
home key. Specific functions are assigned to each key
and those functions change depending on the menu
level, resulting in users having single-key access to often-
used functions.

Inputs include MiniHDMI, VGA-in, MicroUSB, USB
for flash drives, a 2.5mm A/V input jack (for composite
video and stereo audio-in) and a 3.5mm audio-out jack.
