OfficeMax has inked a multiyear, multichannel agreement with EarthLink making it the office supply chain’s preferred ISP.
Under terms of the deal, OfficeMax will market a variety of EarthLink services, including Web hosting and both dial-up and high-speed connectivity, through its nearly 1,000 retail locations and online at OfficeMax.com.
Special interactive EarthLink product stations will be introduced at OfficeMax stores beginning next month, expanding to 500 locations over the next year and a half. The ISP will also be pitched in a co-branded business services area at OfficeMax.com, where a variety of DSL options will be offered.
The partners are kicking off the heightened relationship with a $50 OfficeMax gift card. To qualify, customers must sign up for any EarthLink service (with a minimum four-month commitment) either in-store or through specially marked EarthLink Internet access software.
“The partnership extends the value of OfficeMax’s retail offerings, while providing EarthLink with a variety of solid channels to market products and services to business users who need top-rate Internet access and Web hosting solutions,” said Bill Heys, EarthLink’s executive VP/sales.
