Nikon Picks SanDisk’s CompactFlash For CoolPix

Sunnyvale, Calif. – SanDisk expanded the number of cameras that use its flash memory cards today saying that Nikon has chosen to bundle CompactFlash cards with Nikon’s newest digital camera, the Coolpix 5000.

A 32MB SanDisk CompactFlash card will be included with each camera sold.

The Coolpix 5000 is a lightweight digital camera with a magnesium-alloy body, and is expected to be available in November at a suggested retail price of $1,099.95.

‘With more than 35,000 retail outlets worldwide selling SanDisk-branded flash cards and card readers, Nikon customers can be assured of finding SanDisk CompactFlash cards and accessories wherever they want to take pictures,’ said Nelson Chan, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, SanDisk.
