Melville, N.Y. & Fremont, Calif. – Lexar Media announced today that it has renewed its partnership with Nikon to be the exclusive provider of flash memory cards for Nikon’s Coolpix digital cameras.
Nikon will bundle a 16MB Lexar CompactFlash card with all of its 2003 digital cameras. The memory cards will continue to be Lexar branded and labeled as a ‘Nikon Starter Card.’ The ‘Starter Card’ concept, launched last year at the inception of the partnership, is an effort to spur additional memory sales by encouraging consumers to upgrade their memory card to a higher capacity.
The joint marketing program includes on-box and in-box information, retail promotions and Nikon advertising featuring Lexar Media memory cards.
‘This program worked extraordinarily well for us in 2002 and we are pleased to extend it another year,’ said Jack Abrams, president and CEO of Nikon.
