NHT To Add On-Wall Speaker

Benicia, Calif. –
NHT went to the CEDIA Expo with the first on-wall speaker in its Absolute
series of in-room speakers.

The 4-inch-deep Absolute
wall speaker, shipping in November at $199 each, is also the first on-wall
speaker in the company’s line in about 10 years.

The two-way speaker is tuned to perform best
when up against the wall in applications in which floor or tabletop mounting of
speakers isn’t an option, the company said.

They’re also shallow
enough to be used with flat-panel TVs, and with 13-inch height and 5.75-inch
width, they can be pressed into service as front-height and front-wide speakers
as well as multi-room-audio speakers when in-wall and in-ceiling locations
aren’t available, said marketing head John Johnsen.

He also called
the speaker “quite compelling” in upscale light-commercial applications.

It installs with
a single screw and comes with integrated hardware for mounting. It can be can
be flipped vertically to optimize tweeter performance for different
installation heights.

Frequency
response of 85Hz to 21kHZ +/- 3dB is “nearly identical to that of the Absolute
Zero in-room speaker. It will be available in both black- and white-gloss
hand-rubbed finishes.
