New York — A new photo Web site launched today will, for the first time, offer an “all you can print” model for a monthly fee.
The site, Faces.com, will offer unlimited photo printing for $7.99 per month. At 19 cents per print, a consumer would have to print more than 42 pictures a month to make it cost-competitive with other online services, such as the HP-owned SnapFish, or 27 prints per month to rival services offering 29 cents per print costs.
The Web site will also offer personalized URLs, photo blogging and photo storage. A free plan will offer 500MB of free photo storage.
The site will offer an automatic upload tool, called PhotoSync, which will automatically upload new images stored in a user’s My Pictures folder to their personal Faces.com album.
