Nanotech To Stream 4K `Moving Murals’

San Jose, Calif. – NanoTech Entertainment said Friday it has reached a worldwide 4K Ultra HD distribution agreement with Epic Eye, the parent company of dynamic art resource Moving Murals.

Under the agreement, NanoTech’s UltraFlix streaming 4K Ultra HD service will have the 4K rights to distribute Moving Murals’ current gallery of 500 murals captured at 4K resolution along with future releases from Moving Murals, the companies said.

The art includes imagery ranging from landscapes, cascading waterfalls and a starry night sky to urban scenes and abstract textures.

UltraFlix is billed as the world’s first IPTV/OTT channel for the delivery of 4K Ultra HD (UHD) content. Its streaming video distribution service will have a comprehensive library of UHD titles beginning January 2014, Nanotech said.

UltraFlix will deliver 4K Ultra HD content on a variety of devices including NanoTech’s Nuvola NP-1 and NP-C consumer and commercial 4K Ultra HD streaming media players, which come with UltraFlix pre-installed.

NanoTech’s Nuvola 4K Ultra HD streaming media players will be available starting in the first quarter of 2014 at a $299 suggested retail for the NP-1 consumer version and $699 for the commercial-grade Nuvola NP-C.

Powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 graphics processor, the Nuvola players will stream the Moving Murals without waiting for downloads or requiring large volumes of storage capacity.

“The power of UltraFlix and the Nuvola players to stream our murals in 4K without loss of quality is essential for delivering the rich imagery of our murals,” said Susan Rees, Epic Eye president. “We’re very pleased to partner with the company that is setting the industry standard for 4K delivery.”

Moving Murals’ content is said to bring “the equivalent of an immersive, IMAX-like experience to homes, resorts, hotels, health/wellness facilities and businesses.”

To create imagery that is constantly changing, Moving Murals uses time-lapse photography.  Each mural is comprised more than 6,000 4K photographed images stitched together and looped indefinitely.

NanoTech will demostrate Nuvola Storage Visions, Jan. 5-6 at the Riviera Convention Center; and at International CES, January 7-10 in the South Hall, Booth 21912.
