Las Vegas — Monster’s Noel Lee addressed a packed conference room in the Venetian Hotel on Jan. 6, the day before International CES was set to begin.
Highlighting the press conference was the collective introduction of the Beats headphones from Monster, music artist and producer Dr. Dre, and Interscope Geffen A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine.
The Beats by Dr. Dre headphones were conceived by Dre, said Monster, and mutually designed with engineering by the company. They future a “unique and futuristic style” with an extra-wide headband, hinged ear cups and “newly developed sonic technologies.”
“With music going portable, it wasn’t capturing what I wanted them to hear, and I think Beats accomplishes that,” said Dre.
The headphones will be available in June for a $399 suggested retail.
Monster also debuted a new addition to its line of speed-rated HDMI cables: Ultimate High Speed. This rating will be available on just one cable, the M1000HD.
