Pickering, Ontario - Speaker maker Monitor Audio will enter the tabletop-radio market in the U.S. with first-quarter shipments of tabletop FM/Internet radio with integrated iPod/iPhone dock.

The $449-suggested AirStream 20 incorporates FM tuner, front-facing dock and Wi-Fi, which enables streaming of thousands of Internet radio stations and music stored on a networked PC. The new model is compatible with all iPod/iPhone models, including the latest iPhone 4, the company said.

The AS20 features low-resonance aluminum chassis, touch-sensitive menu buttons on top, a top-mounted control dial, and two full-range drivers designed and voiced by the British-owned company.

Consumers navigate an iPod/iPhone menu by using the AS20's intuitive control dial and touch-sensitive buttons. Access to music from other personal players is via 3.5mm input jack. Other features include an Ethernet port, dual alarm-clock functions and black-and-white LED display.

It will be displayed at International CES.
