Fremont, Calif. — Mio is introducing its first personal navigation device (PND) line to include internally developed software using technology from the recently acquired Navman.
The basic, budget-priced Mio Moov line has a new user interface, and it incorporates the new SiRFstarIII chip that can reportedly lock into a signal in five seconds.
The Mio Moov 300 and 310 offer 4.3-inch screens, text-to-speech and street-name guidance with more than 3.5 million points of interest. The Moov 310 adds one year of prepaid real-time traffic updates through ClearChannel.
The Moov 200 and 210 offer similar features but in a 3.5-inch screen size. Suggested retails are $179 and $199 for the 200 series and $229 and $249 for the 300 series. They will be available at RadioShack, Circuit City and other stores beginning April 1.
