KYE Launching Robo Vac Line

CHINO, CALIF. – Taiwanese IT accessories manufacturer KYE Systems plans to launch its new Agama line of AiBot robotic vacuum cleaners in the U.S. next month.

Two self-propelled models, RC330A and the step-up RC530A, are currently sold in Canada through Best Buy Canada and the chain’s Future Shop stores. KYE will initially offer the pair through its own U.S. selling site, Geniuseshop. com, in November.

The AiBots utilize preprogrammed cleaning patterns, including along-the-wall, spiral, random and, for the step-up model, zigzag, to ensure complete floor coverage.

The RX330A (suggested retail $199) will continuously clean carpets, linoleum, tile and wood floors for up to 60 minutes until its battery is drained, while the RC530A (suggested retail $299) will automatically return to its included recharging station when power is low. The RC530A can also be programmed to activate automatically through an onboard scheduler.

Both models feature sensors that help the AiBots avoid falls, furniture and walls, although protective bumpers also prevent scratches and marks. The units are quiet, weigh about 4 pounds, use only 15 to 20 watts of electricity, and offer a dust-collection capacity of up to 320mL, KYE said.
