Long Beach, Calif. - Kenwood and Garmin teamed up for a four-month rebate program for consumers who purchase one of three Kenwood in-dash A/V head units with built-in Garmin navigation technology.
Rebates range from $100 for the purchase of the $1,500-suggested DNX7160 and the $1,200 DNX6960 to $150 for the purchase of the $2,000 DNX9960. The program runs from May 1 to Aug. 31.
The program is "designed to ease the step from a bare bones in-dash model or portable GPS unit into a full-featured premium navigation/entertainment system," said Dave Hoag, sales director for Kenwood's consumer electronics sector. Compared to those products, Hoag said, the Kenwood products offer "premium displays, enhanced iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, high performance audio/video capabilities and the latest navigation technology from Garmin, built-in."
A dealer merchandising kit includes such in-store materials such as a countertop display containing rebate coupons, product "danglers" attached to qualifying products, a ceiling-hanging mobile and a poster announcing promotion details. The company is also offering banner ads for online promotion and a Web link to a dedicated section of the Kenwood USA Web site for consumers to download rebate coupons.
