Denver – HydraConnect extended the replacement warranty on its HSS series of HDMI matrix audio/video switchers to five years and added drivers for integration with more home-automation systems.
HydraConnect said it is the first company to sell such products with a five-year warranty. For current owners of HSS products, the warranty will be retroactive to the original date of purchase, the company noted.
The HSS products feature home automation drivers for Control4, Crestron, RTI, and iRule home-control systems, and the company is adding compatibility with Savant, Bitwise, and Elan home-control systems.
HydraConnect’s products differ from basic matrix switches by providing system automation, automatic set-up, and interface processing through an onboard UNIX computer, the company said. A web-based interface lets installers to use a laptop, tablet or smart phone to automatically setup and test all the connected devices.
The devices also feature patented CEC Control software that functions as a ‘universal translator’ among the many HDMI hardware implementations to eliminate IR flashers, and patent-pending Dynamic EDID electronic device identification management automatically manages 3D sources with mixed 3D and 2D TVs, HydraConnect said.
The systems also connect to the cloud for software updates, and remote access enables installers or the factory to troubleshoot the system.
