hhgregg Rolling Out Verizon Kiosks

Indianapolis, Ind. — hhgregg is
stepping up its cellular business with a chain-wide rollout of Verizon kiosks
beginning later this month.

The full-service kiosks, operated
by The Cellular Connection, Verizon’s largest authorized agent in the Midwest,
will feature a full array of products and services, including 3G smartphones,
bill payment and customer support.

The rollout to all 157-plus
hhgregg locations is expected to be completed by year’s end.

“Verizon Wireless is a solid
company, backed by great technology and has the most recognizable name in the
mobile phone industry,” said Gregg Throgmartin, executive VP/COO of hhgregg. “We
are confident that The Cellular Connection will give our customers an exceptional
purchasing experience.”

The move will provide the growing
CE and majap chain with a larger stake in the coveted mobile business, where it
is currently represented by a small selection of unlocked AT&T phones and
prepaid plans.

The Cellular Connection, based in
Marion, Ind., was founded in 1991 as Moorehead Communications by Steve and
Phyllis Moorehead and currently operates over 300 locations in 16 states. A
member of the Verizon Wireless premium retailer program, the chain is also a
leading DISH Network dealer in the Midwest.
