Chicago - hhgregg continues national expansion with the opening of 14 new stores in the Chicago area on Thursday, Sept. 15 -- a new market for the chain and now the retailer's largest.
The stores will be located in Gurnee, Vernon Hills, Geneva, Schaumburg, Downers Grove, Bloomingdale, Arlington Heights, Joliet, Naperville, Orland Park, Niles and Crystal Lake in Illinois, and Merrillville in Indiana.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at each new location at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, followed by the official store opening at 3 p.m. hhgregg will hold a grand-opening sale from Sept. 15-24, providing local residents with low prices on hhgregg's selection of televisions, appliances, computers, cameras and more. Customers will also be able to take advantage of special financing options on items throughout the store, and will have a chance to register to win a Frigidaire stainless-steel appliance package, a 55-inch LG 3DTV or a Magellan GPS.
"Chicago is an exciting new market for hhgregg, and we are delighted to have a presence here," said Jeff Pearson, marketing VP for hhgregg. "We look forward to serving new customers in the area, who can expect to find a large selection of products, very competitive prices and outstanding customer service at our stores."
About 700 have been hired to staff the Chicago area stores.
