introduced Tuesday its second FinePix Real 3D system, featuring the FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera.
The 3D W3, which ships in September at a $500 suggested retail price, steps up from the company's preceding 3D camera with the ability to shoot high-resolution 3D photos and movies in 720p HD resolution, using a new RP (Real Photo) processor.
The camera includes a new mini HDMI port connection to most 3D television systems and an autostereoscopic 3D widescreen 3.5 inch LCD monitor.
The components produce 3D still images and movies that can be viewed on most new 3D TVs, or printed as lenticular prints.
"Last year, Fujifilm introduced the first real, complete solution for 3D digital photography, once again showing our commitment to the evolution of imaging technology," stated Go Miyazaki, Fujifilm North America imaging and electronics imaging division president. "With the new FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera, we have made 3D imaging more accessible to all consumers, enabling them to shoot in 3D HD and making it easy to view their photos and movies on most 3D TV systems."
The FinePix Real 3D W3 comes in a black matte finish, measures 21 mm at its thinnest point and weighs 8.5 ounces with battery and memory card.
The stainless steel body construction precisely balances the optical axis for accurate 3D images.
A horizontal lens cover with wave detail serves as the camera's on/off switch.
Features include: twin 10 megapixel CCD sensors and dual Fujinon 3x optical zoom lenses (35-105mm) that are spaced 75 mm apart.
The synchronized control of the twin CCD sensors releases the left and right shutters at the same time.
Photo data captured by the dual lens CCD system is processed by the newly developed RP (Real Photo) processor, which merges the left and right images into a single image.
The FinePix Real 3D W3 system ships with a 3.5-inch high resolution autostereoscopic 3D widescreen LCD with 1150K resolution displaying high contrast 3D images and movies without the need of 3D glasses.
The new lenticular system is said to use rows of convex lenses that create a binocular parallax effect to produce a realistic 3D image with less cross-talk and flicker.
3D images can be shown in High Luminosity Mode displaying images that are 1.5 times brighter, with color that is 1.8 times deeper.
The mini HDMI v1.4 port allows the 3D images to be passed to a 3D TV display to playback video in 720p and HD resolution and photos captured at 1920x1080 pixels (or higher).
Included in the camera are advanced 3D and 2D capture modes. Using the Individual Shutter 3D Shooting system, two shots are captured of the same subject from different positions. The camera automatically merges the images into a single, enhanced 3D photo.
Advanced 2D Modes also allow for independent use of the dual CCD sensors and Fujinon lenses in the system.
The user can choose different zoom ranges and color settings for each image, capturing both at the same time. With Tele/Wide Simultaneous Shooting, photographers can zoom in on a subject while also taking a wide-angle shot of the same scene.
With Two-Color Simultaneous Shooting, users can take photos of the same scene with a different color tonality. Set one lens system to vivid colors and the other to vintage black and white, or capture the scene in both standard and black and white.
Dual-Sensitivity Simultaneous Shooting allows users to capture high and standard sensitivity simultaneously.

Â· 13 scene positions to automatically optimize camera settings for some of the most common shooting environments.
Â· Super Intelligent Flash adjusts flash output and timing to capture subjects and background.
For 3D prints, Fujifilm is offering an online service (SeeHere.com) that consumers can use to upload images to make integrated high precision prints with lenticular technology. They system produces high quality 5-by-7 inch 3D photos for $6.99 each.
