Epson Adds EX Series And Combo Projectors

Long Beach, Calif. – Epson
introduced Tuesday three EX-series multimedia projectors targeting business
applications, and unveiled a new projector/DVD player combo unit .

The EX-series 3LCD projectors include the Epson EX31
($549 estimated selling price), EX51 ($649) and EX71 ($749). They will all ship
this month and feature compact body designs and 2,500 lumens of color and white
light output.

Epson said both will do equally well mounted in
conference rooms or carried around in a bag for portable
presentations.

The EX31 is an SVGA resolution model. The step-up EX51
produces XGA resolution and adds HDMI connectivity. and the EX71 is a WXGA
resolution model with a 16:10 aspect ratio for full display of widescreen
notebooks, and HD video content.

Epson’s E-TORL lamp technology enables up to 5,000
hours of operation in economy mode. Epson said replacement E-TORL lamps can cost
up to $100 less than competing replacement lamps.

The company also introduced the PowerLite Presenter
($899 estimated retail) combo 3LCD projector and DVD player.  The projector
features WXGA resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2,500 lumens of brightness and
USB plug-and-play instant setup.

A microphone input is added, allowing the dual 10-watt
speakers to amplify any presentation.

The compact projector weighs 9 pounds and is targeted
at the education market.

The projectors are being carried at leading retailers,
including Best Buy, OfficeMax, Staples and Amazon.com
