DSi Users Can Create Games

Los Angeles — Nintendo announced several new capabilities for users of the DSi handheld gaming device at the E3 show Tuesday, including the ability to upload photos to Facebook directly from the DSi and to create their own games.

Nintendo unveiled its first game —WarioWare D.I.Y. — that allows users to create a DS or DSi game from the ground up. Users can choose a theme, the characters and the environment of a micro game that can be shared with other WarioWare D.I.Y. users.

Nintendo is also releasing its first DSiWare game that allows users to design their own levels from scratch. The title, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! will be available on the DSi Shop beginning June 8.

Nintendo also announced it will release a DSi system update this summer that will allow users to transfer photos taken with the DSi’s camera to Facebook.

Two additional new DS and DSi titles announced at E3 are Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story for the DSi and DS and Golden Sun DS.
