Littleton, Colo. –
introduced Thursday a new twist on its “TV Everywhere” concept, offering
Dish subscribers with a Sling-enabled receiver the ability to watch live and
recorded programs on compatible smartphones, tablets and laptops.
“Unlike mobile viewing from cable and telcos that limit access to
select programs, our TV Everywhere services give consumers 24/7 access to all
the live and recorded content included with their Dish Network programming
subscription,” stated Ira Bahr, Dish Network chief marketing officer.
The new capability will work with Sling-enabled equipment,
including the Dish Network’s ViP 722 or 722k HD DVRs equipped with a $99 Sling
adapter.
The equipment will allow viewing live and recorded programming on
a host of compatible handheld and tablet devices, including Windows and Mac
computers, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android smartphones and BlackBerrys.
