Vista, Calif. — Directed Electronics is shipping its first two-way remote-start Responder LE models that do not include full security systems.
The remote-start-only units have the thinnest key-chain transmitters to date from Directed and can remotely start a vehicle at a distance of up to 2,000 feet, said the company. They include a remote temperature readout of the car’s interior and LEDs to confirm the vehicle has started.
The product is available under the Viper, Python and Clifford brands at a suggested retail of $349. Previous models that combined security and remote start carried a price of $479.
