Dice Adds Internet Radio To OEM-Integration Kits

Signal Hill, Calif. – Factory car stereo systems in multiple vehicles will be able to stream thousands of Internet radio stations from a connected iPhone now that Dice Electronics has added the capability to its Silverline Duo OEM-integration kits.

The kits integrate factory radios with aftermarket Sirius satellite-radio tuners and USB-connected iPods/iPhones, enabling the factory radios to select iPod/iPhone-stored music and satellite radio stations for playback.

With the Duo’s addition of software from Internet radio company Livio, the factory heads will now also control an iPhone-installed Livio Internet radio app, enabling factory head units to select thousands of Internet stations for playback.

The basic Livio Car Internet Radio app, available free on the iTunes Store, lets users stream hundreds of Internet stations. A step-up version of the app at $4.99 lets users access more than 45,000 radio streams from around the world.

The Duos require the use of an iPhone running iOS 4.2 or higher and Livio app Version 2.2.0.

Silverline Duo kits with Livio software are available for select Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Honda, Acura, BMW, Mini, Nissan and Infiniti vehicles at a suggested $189.99. Kits for VW, Audi and Mazda are coming soon, the company said.
