Austin, Texas – Custom Sounds, the car A/V specialty chain, has joined car audio buying group In Car Experts (ICE).
In a statement, Rob Elliott, executive director of the one-year-old buying group, said he is proud to have Custom Sounds’ president Mike Cofield and his team as ICE members. “Mike’s retailing expertise is a rare find in the mobile electronics industry,” he stated. “As impressive as Mike’s retailing knowledge is, what impresses me most is [his] willingness to share his know-how with others. ICE looks forward to appointing Mike to the ICE Advisory Board in the very near future.”
Cofield, a founding member of the Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association, was further lauded by Elliott as a “vocal leader for retailers everywhere.”
Custom Sounds operates 15 stores throughout the Austin, San Antonio and St. Louis markets. The addition of the chain brings ICE’s storefront count up to 135 locations and its annual revenues to over $160 million. The group does not disclose the number of member dealers.
