Conn’s Sees Q4 Sales Rise 10.2%

Beaumont, Tex. — Net sales at Conn’s rose 10.2 percent to $141.6 million during the dealer’s fiscal fourth quarter ended Jan. 31, while same-store sales edged up 0.8 percent.

For the full fiscal year, total sales grew 12.1 percent to $494.1 million and same-store sales rose 3.6 percent.

“We continue to get good performance at the sales line both in total sales and same store sales,” said chairman/CEO Thomas Frank. “Our core product categories remain solid, plus we continue to get significant contributions from our track, bedding, and lawn and garden product categories. We had positive same store sales growth and our new-store growth strategy is working.”

The NATM dealer defines “track” sales as purchases of small electronic and appliance items and other take-with products that are sold alongside the main power aisle that runs through its stores. The company, unique for its in-house credit operation that finances over 56 percent of its sales, is pursuing an aggressive market build-out that has brought its store count up to 50 locations throughout Texas and Louisiana.
