Islandia, N.Y. — CA has made available its 2008 line of Internet security and desktop management software for consumer use in the home or home office.

According to the company, its “flagship” product, CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2008, features new tools for Web site authentication, data backup and migration, and integrated parental controls that allow parents to create up to 10 password protected user profiles.

The updated software’s “anti-phishing” feature is said to use color-coded risk assessment indicators to warn users about potentially unsafe Web sites and provides information about the site including its owner’s identity (if available) and the owner’s physical address.

The software’s data backup and transfer capabilities allows users to back up vital information from their computer such as data, settings and preferences on a CD or DVD
