Corning may inflict some pain on CE accessory makers.
The manufacturer announced it latest edition of Gorilla Glass, said to be able to survive drops “onto rough, unforgiving surfaces up to four times better than competitive glass designs.”
According to the company, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 survives up to 80 percent of the time when dropped face-down from 5.2 feet onto rough surfaces. It’s currently commercially available and will be found on products later this year.
