I control’s “2014 State of the Smart Home” report, the result of studies it fielded in December 2013 and April 2014, snuffs out the real reasons consumers are interested in smart-home adoption. According to the company, “When reviewing the findings, we found that it wasn’t the respondent’s age, gender or income level — but rather their level of enthusiasm for technology — that was most predictive of their preferences.” What follows are some of the features consumers expressed interest with and their priorities for smart-home adoption.
