Some airlines envision a future where its planes become flying e-commerce platforms while others see technology as a means to improve operational efficiency. Emirates Airline president Sir Tim Clark used the word “Revolutionary” to describe how new tech will affect his airline. “And I don’t say that lightly,” he added.
“The airline industry which has traditionally been fairly Jurassic in its thinking needs to get its act together pretty damn quickly because we are so process driven,” Clark told us. “Sometimes they don’t know why they do things,” he said. “They just do it because they were told to do it.”
