Shari Ballard Departing Best Buy

Was instrumental in turnaround efforts

Shari Ballard, Best Buy senior executive VP and president of multichannel retail, is departing the retailer on Aug. 3, Best Buy confirmed to TWICE.

The news was first reported by The Star Tribune.

Ballard, who’s been instrumental in Best Buy’s turnaround efforts, is currently responsible for the chain’s U.S. stores, e-commerce, Best Buy Mexico and real estate strategy. She joined Best Buy in 1993 as an assistant store manager, and in 2007 took on the role of retail channel management executive VP.

Three years later, Ballard was appointed co-president of Americas with Mike Vitelli. She was named president of international in 2012, and she became both U.S. retail president and chief human resources officer in 2014.

The company does not have plans at this time to replace her.
